The brief: new expanded offices with a standout client area – a workspace ‘on another level’

PJA is an independent, design focused consultancy combining transport planning, engineering, urban design, and environmental expertise.

Known for practical, expert led project delivery, they’ve influenced national guidance and work with clients across private and public sectors — from cycle network design to major urban infrastructure.

With a growing team, PJA were looking to expand their office space, by taking on another floor above their existing space.

But they wanted more than that – they wanted to create a standout client area that would really resonate with their ethos, seamlessly integrating into their existing identity while taking their clients’ experience to another level.

• Creating a 3D model and walkthrough: Accolade took time to understand and establish a really clear brief, and developed a full design and 3D model and walkthrough, which allowed the PJA team to really visualise the new space, which made the whole design process and decisions much quicker
• Workspace on another level: We worked with PJA to develop a scheme inspired by hygge Scandi minimalism, focusing on comfort, warmth and simplicity.  Acoustic panels
• Furniture planning and design: Creating an open, multi purpose client space, including selecting, supplying and installing furniture to suit both the client space, and offices and meeting rooms
• New kitchen space: Building a new kitchen in the space, to give clients an elevated experience
• Muted colour palette: A muted colour palette, clean lines, and natural finishes echo PJA’s values while drawing inspiration from environments like hotel lobbies and airport VIP lounges—places that effortlessly combine sophistication and relaxation.

The execution: A rewarding experience
